Consult the Calendar
There are times of the year that are busier than others; however we know that it is ideal for families to move during the summer when the kids are out of school. If you do not fall into that category you options are open.
Measure Before You Move
When purchasing a new home is your furniture going to fit? The old adage measure twice and move once is applicable to make sure that everything fits in the new house or can get into the new house.
Donate As Much as You Can
Are you really going to wear that shirt from 5 years ago? We understand that donating your items is often difficult but it’s time for a new beginning.
Don’t Try to Move and Cook
Stocking your kitchen, cooking and cleaning takes time. Don’t try to be a superhero. Just plan on having food delivered the first few nights in your new place. This is also a great time to explore the local restaurants near your new own. Your new “go-to” pizza place or burger joint are just waiting to be discovered.
Embrace the New
Moving days are generally a range of emotions. Embrace the great times that you had at your old home and memories that are with you, and welcome the new opportunities that present itself. Play a great tune while you are moving so everyone feels good about the new adventure.
